Reverend Dr. Bertrice Y. Wood
Reverend Wood is a seasoned church executive and pastor. In her career, she has been Pastor of Mt. Zion Congregational United Church of Christ in Cleveland and Pastor of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Cleveland. In addition, she has held numerous positions in the United Church of Christ, including Director of Churches Uniting in Christ, a national ecumenical collaboration of 12 denominations.
Dr. Wood pursued her doctoral studies at Union Theological Seminary in New York City and was awarded a Ph.D in Theology with a special focus on the church from a global perspective. Currently, she teaches Religious Studies at Cuyahoga Community College and is an Assistant Chaplain (on call) at Fairview Hospital, in addition to beginning her ministry at the Solon Community Church.
Jeremy Gilpatric - Director of Music
Tenor Jeremy Gilpatric holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the University of Akron. Jeremy has served as an artist-in-residence with Toledo Opera where he sang Figaro in their Educational Outreach production of Barber of Seville. In the Cleveland Plain Dealer's review of Opera Circle's Werther, Donald Rosenberg said, "As Albert, Jeremy Gilpatric sounded noble and fervent." Additionally, Jeremy has sung with the Cleveland Orchestra, Opera Per Tutti, Dorian Opera Theatre, and Canton Symphony. He is a soloist for the Beth El Congregation of Akron and a guest teacher for Akron Public Schools.
Alyssa Kay Thompson - Organist/Pianist
Originally from Connecticut, Alyssa is proud to be coming up on her junior year studying Music Direction in Baldwin Wallace University's Music Theatre Program.
In addition to making music, Alyssa enjoys cooking, traveling, and being with her family.
Evelyn is new to Solon Community Church and we welcome her. Her father was a pastor so she has experience working with children and adults in a church setting. She is the mother of two children.. Bobby age 13 and Francesca age 12.
Eva Lukwinski - Secretary/Office Manager
Eva has been with Solon Community Church since 2007. Prior to SCC she was on the staff of St. Wencelas Catholic Church. In her spare time, Eva enjoys reading, gardening and relaxing with family and friends.
